1.3 Demographically Representative Leadership
Demographic representation in political, economic, educational and social realms means that people of color and women are represented in a community’s leadership roles in rough proportion to their percentage of the general population. Lack of demographically representative leadership places Boston in danger of failing to attract or retain talented and innovative individuals from diverse backgrounds and garnering a reputation as a place with not much “room at the top.”
